G-NIOMCheck
You are what you eat
G-NIOMCheck – DNA Sequencing
The G-NIOM/check allows for a particularly detailed analysis of your gut flora.
It is a modern microbiome stool test that analyzes the composition of your gut bacteria using DNA sequencing (high-throughput sequencing).
The test kit is easy to use at home and requires only a very small stool sample, which is collected by swabbing toilet paper. The sample is preserved in a DNA-stabilizing solution and can be stored for a long time at room temperature. After being sent to the lab, all gut bacteria are analyzed using high-throughput sequencing. This allows for the detection of up to 2,000 different microbes—significantly more than with traditional gut flora analyses, which can identify only about 15% of the microbes.
The result will be compared against a large community database to determine your gut type and the balance of your gut flora.
You will receive a detailed report from us with individual recommendations for improving your gut flora, including dietary tips and recommendations for supplementing targeted bacterial strains.Â
The test is suitable for individuals aged 14 and above. In addition to bacteria, fungi will also be analyzed in the future. The results report also includes a so-called community value, which allows for comparison with a healthy reference group.
Especially during pregnancy, many women are interested in this, as the condition of the mother's gut flora can influence the immune system and the subsequent colonization of the infant's gut.
What the test analyzes:
Unlike traditional stool tests at the doctor's, which only search for pathogenic germs, this test creates a genetic profile of your entire «gut ecosystem.» It provides information on:
Bacterial diversity How diverse is your gut microbiome?
Ratio of bacterial groups: For example, the balance between Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes (often associated with weight management).
Protective factors: Whether there are enough bacteria to protect the intestinal lining or prevent inflammation.
Synthesis Performance: Clues on how well your gut can produce vitamins (e.g., B12 or K) on its own.
Costs and process
Price: The test is available at our practice and costs CHF 240.00.
A comprehensive evaluation will be provided.Process You take a tiny stool sample at home, send it to the lab, and after some time, you'll receive a detailed digital report with nutritional advice from us.
Snapshot:
- Your microbiome is constantly changing, the test shows the status as of the test day.
My tip for you
Eating prebiotically: Lots of vegetables, fiber, and resistant starch (e.g., cold potatoes)
- Inulin & Oligofructose This is the Bifidos' favorite food. It's naturally in Jerusalem artichokes, onions, garlic, asparagus, and artichokes.
- Resilient Strength appears when you boil potatoes, rice, or pasta and then cool completely (approx. 12–24 hours). The starch changes and passes undigested to the bifidobacteria in the large intestine.
- Apple pectin A grated apple (with skin) is an excellent gentle fertilizer.
- At most Supplementation Probiotics and prebiotics and L-glutamine for the intestinal lining (available in our health practice)
